Tom Brady will once again be put on the spot, this time at a Netflix roast.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner will be featured first in a series of future specials titled “Greatest Roasts of All Time: GROAT,” according to Netflix. Brady is the show’s executive producer, and his roast is planned to air in 2023.
“To paraphrase Marshawn Lynch, my dear buddy… In a press release, Brady remarked, “I’m only here so I don’t get penalized,” referring to himself as “Gisele Bündchen’s spouse” and a “sixth-round NFL draft selection.”
“We can’t wait to roast three-time Super Bowl loser Tom Brady, who only returned to the NFL to avoid this roast,” Netflix vice president of stand-up and comedic formats Robbie Praw said. “In all seriousness, it’s an incredible honor to collaborate on this project with the greatest football player of all time.” Nobody does it better than Brady when it comes to absorbing knocks and still coming out on top, so we’re certain the roast will be a breeze for him.”
After 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, Brady won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Brady, 44, declared his retirement in January, but then changed his mind in March, announcing he’ll return to Tampa Bay for another season.
Brady, the NFL’s career leader in passing yards and touchdown passes, just revealed that after his NFL career is over, he will work as a Fox Sports pundit.
