Emma Watson is an actress and activist who is best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films. She is also a passionate reader and a feminist, who started an online book club called Our Shared Shelf in 2016. As part of her book club, she has been hiding copies of her favorite books in public places for people to find and enjoy. One of the books she chose was Mom & Me & Mom by Maya Angelou, a memoir about the author’s relationship with her mother. Watson hid 100 copies of this book in the London subway and 100 copies in the New York City subway, with personal notes inside each one. She hoped to inspire people to read more and to share their thoughts on the book with others.
