Investing in Her Talent
Britney’s talent and passion for performing were evident from a young age. At just six years old, she won Miss Talent Central States, and by eight years old, her mother, Lynne, took her on an eight-hour drive to Atlanta to audition for The Mickey Mouse Club. Lynne knew her daughter was too young for the show, so she passed her off as nine. Although Britney didn’t make the cut that time, she caught the eye of the casting director, who recommended that Lynne get a talent agent in New York.
As Jamie’s construction company began to falter, the couple decided to invest in their daughter’s future. They saw the potential in Britney’s talent and believed that if she could make it as a star, the family could be saved from financial ruin. So, they sent Britney to Manhattan to pursue her dreams.
