A$AP Ferg is a rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday morning in connection with a shooting in Hollywood last year, according to investigators.
The musician, whose true name is Rakim Mayers, was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday.
Authorities said Mayers, 33, was sought in connection with a gunshot that occurred on Nov. 6, 2021, after an altercation escalated. Mayers is suspected of discharging a pistol at a friend, who suffered a minor injury and sought medical attention afterwards, according to authorities.
According to authorities, Mayers and two other males fled the scene after hearing gunshots.
Mayers’ spokesperson and attorney at RCA Records did not reply to demands for comment right away.

Mayers had been pictured with Rihanna in Barbados a few days before. In January, the high-profile celebrity couple revealed they were expecting their first child together. The due date is yet to be confirmed.
Mayers’ last studio album was released four years ago, and he, like Rihanna, has become as well-known for establishing fashion trends as he is for music. After being arrested for over a month in Sweden after a street fight, he became the subject of worldwide attention in 2019. He was convicted guilty of assault and handed a “conditional sentence,” which meant he wouldn’t have to serve any further time in prison.
