42. James Monroe – 138.6
James Monroe, the fifth president, dedicated his service from 1817 to 1825. Notably, he held the distinction of being the final individual in office who could proudly call himself one of the Founding Fathers. However, Monroe wasn’t one to flaunt his impressive accomplishments. In fact, he maintained a modest demeanor despite his remarkable achievements. A woman from Virginia, who had the privilege of meeting him, described Monroe as “tall and well-formed, dressed plainly in the old style.” His quiet and dignified manner left a lasting impression. Additionally, Monroe’s intellect shone through as he acquired legal knowledge under the tutelage of Thomas Jefferson.
