A Turnaround in Mark Wahlberg’s Life
Mark Wahlberg once aspired to be like the guys he met while locked up. But it wasn’t what he wanted after all. He earned his stripes and realized that he had ended up in the worst place possible and never wanted to return. After his release, Mark turned to his local priest for guidance and support, seeking to better his life by leaving the gang he had become a part of.
At the age of 42, almost three decades after dropping out, Mark finally fulfilled his diploma requirements by taking online courses. Mark can now proudly call himself a high school graduate, but he’s also aware of how his life could have been different. In a letter to the Huffington Post in 2013, Mark stated that most high school dropouts do not end up enjoying a successful career in Hollywood and that he knows how fortunate he is.
