Wahlburgers
Aside from their own individual incidents, the Wahlberg family has also faced criticism for their business ventures. In 2011, the family opened a hamburger restaurant in Boston called Wahlburgers. While the restaurant has been successful, it has also faced criticism for appropriating the culture of the working-class Boston neighborhood where the Wahlberg brothers grew up. Critics have argued that the restaurant is a prime example of gentrification and that the family is profiting off of their working-class roots. In response, the Wahlberg brothers have argued that the restaurant is a celebration of their family and their roots in Boston.
