Cypress Hill – Saturday Night Live
In the early ’90s, Cypress Hill was one of the most popular hip-hop groups, who smashed records and with songs like “Insane in the Brain.” So naturally, the producers at SNL were interested and invited them to perform on the show. Lorne Michaels and his fellow producers would come to regret their decision. The group had a reputation for engaging in illicit substances, and they were explicitly instructed not to indulge on set.
However, they ultimately defied the rules, vandalized their instruments, and as a consequence, were permanently banned from the show.
