Practical and vocational nurses usually care for people who are sick, especially the elderly. They may not have the same qualifications as a registered nurse. Typically, an LPN has at least two years of training and will work directly under a physician. They typically earn around $46,240 per year.

In 2018, there were 728,900 LPN jobs that existed. By 2028, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projected that there will be 807,000 jobs in the field. This is an additional 78,100 jobs over a 10-year period.
